The K-Dense copy is a detailed, version-pinned guide for the official Adaptyv Foundry API and SDK, while the other three copies describe a different, older alpha/beta platform using a Lambda URL, raw requests, and a different submission payload. They disagree on the base URL, authentication setup, SDK usage, and experiment submission format, so crowning one would hide a real alternative.

# Adaptyv Protein Experiment API

Use this skill to submit protein sequences for wet-lab validation via the Adaptyv cloud laboratory.

## 1. Determine the Platform Version
- **Official Foundry API (Recommended):** Use if you have access to the official Adaptyv Foundry platform and the `adaptyv-sdk`.
- **Legacy Alpha/Beta API:** Use if you are using the older Lambda URL endpoint and raw `requests`.

## 2. Authentication
- **Foundry:** Create a bearer token in Foundry under Organization → Settings → Tokens. Set `ADAPTYV_API_KEY` in your environment.
- **Legacy:** Contact support@adaptyvbio.com to request API access. Set `ADAPTYV_API_KEY` in your environment.

## 3. Submission Workflow

### Option A: Official Foundry SDK (Python 3.11+)
1. Install the SDK: `uv pip install "git+https://github.com/adaptyvbio/adaptyv-sdk.git@<commit>"`
2. Initialize `FoundryClient` with `api_key` and `base_url` (`https://devs.adaptyvbio.com/api/v1`).
3. List targets to find the correct `target_id`.
4. Create an experiment spec with `experiment_type`, `method`, `target_id`, `sequences`, and `n_replicates`.
5. Call `client.experiments.cost_estimate(spec)` to review costs.
6. Call `client.experiments.create(name=..., experiment_spec=spec)` to create a draft.
7. Call `client.experiments.submit(experiment_id)` to start the lab process.
8. Poll `client.experiments.get_quote(experiment_id)` and confirm with `client.experiments.confirm_quote(experiment_id)`.

### Option B: Legacy Raw API
1. Install dependencies: `uv pip install requests python-dotenv`
2. Set `BASE_URL` to `https://kq5jp7qj7wdqklhsxmovkzn4l40obksv.lambda-url.eu-central-1.on.aws`.
3. POST to `/experiments` with a JSON body containing `sequences` (FASTA-like), `experiment_type`, and optional `webhook_url`.
4. Store the returned `experiment_id` for status tracking.

## 4. Sequence Optimization (Pre-submission)
- Use tools like NetSolP, SoluProt, SolubleMPNN, and ESM to filter or redesign sequences for solubility and expression before submission.

## 5. Retrieval
- Results are typically delivered in ~21 days. Use the platform's status endpoints or webhooks to track progress.
