Use when starting or navigating any Comparative Political Studies (CPS) manuscript and you need the right next sub-skill, chosen by lifecycle stage and whether the paper makes a genuinely comparative claim across countries or over time. It dispatches; it does not draft content.

When to use

• Starting a new CPS paper
• Navigating mid-project skill selection
• Checking if a paper is comparative enough for CPS
• Routing after a decision letter
• Determining the next sub-skill by lifecycle stage

When not to use

• Drafting content
• Single-country area-studies pieces without comparative leverage
• General US poli-sci or pure IR theory
• Pure-formal-theory papers that never compare political systems
