Extract reusable knowledge from the current session into a persistent skill. Use when you discover something non-obvious, create a workaround, or develop a multi-step workflow that future sessions would benefit from.
Help a user learn a topic through adaptive tutoring, lesson planning, practice, retrieval checks, explanations, study guides, or exercises. Use when the user asks to learn, understand, practice, drill, review, study, or be tutored on something.
When to use
- **Non-obvious debugging** — Investigation that took significant effort, not in docs
- **Misleading errors** — Error message was wrong, found the real cause
- **Workarounds** — Found a limitation with a creative solution
- **Tool integration** — Undocumented API usage or configuration
- **Trial-and-error** — Multiple attempts before success
- **Repeatable workflows** — Multi-step task you'd do again
- **User-facing automation** — Reports, checks, or processes users will request
- Use when this workflow matches the user request: Help a user learn a topic through adaptive tutoring, lesson planning, practice, retrieval checks, explanations, study guides, or exercises. Use when the user asks to learn, understand, pract…
When not to use
- Requires the upstream tool, account, API key, or local setup when the workflow names one.
- Does not authorize destructive, production, paid, or external-message actions without explicit user approval.
- Validate generated artifacts or recommendations against the user's real sources before treating them as final.

Conflict
The two copies use the same skill name but define completely different procedures. The first copy is an adaptive tutoring workflow for teaching a user a topic (diagnose level, teach, practice, assess). The second copy is a meta-workflow for extracting reusable knowledge from the current session into a persistent SKILL.md file (evaluate, check existing, create, quality gate). They do not reproduce, shorten, or wrap each other; they are distinct tasks that happen to share the name 'learn'.
