Skill card

combined

The two skills overlap in the goal of creating an inspiring, achievable product vision, but they are not interchangeable. The phuryn copy is a concise, self-contained procedure for drafting and selecting a vision statement. The RefoundAI copy is a broader, research-grounded framework that adds specific techniques (emotional metaphors, visual storyboards, cross-functional synthesis, backward planning) and a library of named frameworks (PRFAQ, 10-Star, Painted Picture) that the first copy lacks. Conversely, the phuryn copy provides a specific output format (3-5 variations) and a selection rationale step that the RefoundAI copy does not explicitly mandate. Combining them captures the full range of methods and constraints.

# Product Vision

## Goal
Brainstorm an inspiring, achievable, and emotional product vision that motivates teams and aligns stakeholders.

## Input
- Company and product context
- Current market positioning
- Relevant user problems or strategic constraints

## Process
1. **Identify the Core Problem**: Define the potent user problem that makes this vision necessary.
2. **Envision the Future State**: Articulate a lofty yet realistic destination. Consider a "10-star" or "15-out-of-10" experience if constraints were removed.
3. **Craft the Narrative**:
   - Use emotional metaphors to make the abstract concrete (e.g., "sitting in Dolores Park").
   - Develop a single strategic story that acts as a North Star for all departments.
4. **Draft Variations**:
   - Generate 3-5 distinct vision statement options.
   - Ensure each balances ambition with credibility.
5. **Visualize & Validate**:
   - Consider creating a visual prototype, storyboard, or "Painted Picture" to communicate the future state.
   - Check for cross-functional feasibility (engineering, design, research).
6. **Select & Refine**:
   - Choose the strongest vision.
   - Explain the rationale for the selection.
   - Ensure the final statement is memorable, jargon-free, and can be communicated in one sentence.

## Key Principles
- **Emotional Resonance**: The vision should make people feel something, not just understand the direction.
- **Cross-Functional Synthesis**: Blend user empathy, technical feasibility, and visual storytelling.
- **Large-Scale Thinking**: Avoid artificial limits; think big by default.
- **Living Document**: Treat the vision as a living statement that evolves with strategy.

## Output
- A final, one-sentence vision statement.
- A brief rationale for why this vision was selected.
- Optional: A visual or narrative artifact (storyboard, metaphor description) to support the vision.
